Methaqualone is usually a sedative-hypnotic drug that's similar in effect to barbiturates, a standard central nervous process depressant. The sedative-hypnotic activity was initial observed by Indian scientists within the nineteen fifties and in 1962 methaqualone by itself was patented during the US by Wallace and Tiernan.
